Select interior design materials that will effectively represent the elements and principles of design in your chosen composition. These materials can include, but are not limited to

 

1. Choose (2) of the black and white compositions you created. You must select (1) composition from the Elements assignment and (1) composition from the Principles assignment.

2. Select interior design materials that will effectively represent the elements and principles of design in your chosen composition. These materials can include, but are not limited to:
– Fabric samples
– Wallpaper samples
– Flooring samples (tiles, wood planks, carpet swatches, etc.)
– Decorative paper or cardstock
– Paint swatches
– Any other relevant materials you can find (wood, acrylic, vinyl, etc.)

3. Use the materials to recreate your chosen composition OR develop a completely new composition on a 8” x 8” board square. You can cut, tear, layer, fold, or manipulate the materials in any way that best represents the element and principle you are exploring. Remember that craftsmanship is part of the assignment.

4. One composition must be created using different interior design materials, and the other must utilize the laser engraving/laser cutting technique learned during the Field Trip. You are welcome to incorporate other techniques in addition to laser engraving/cutting.

5. Ensure that your composition effectively utilizes the 8″ x 8″ board area and accurately reflects the chosen element and principle.

6. For each composition you will write a typed paragraph explaining your material choices and how they contribute to the representation of the interior design element and principle in your composition.
7. Create a single file with your final compositions and explanations. You will upload ONE SINGLE PDF file.
Submission Guidelines:
