INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINAL PAPER
For your final paper, you must answer the following question:
What theory(es) or concept(s) covered during the semester challenged your previous understandings of sex, genders, or sexual preferences? Why?
To successfully address this question, your paper needs to:
1- Explain the theory(ies) or concept(s) that challenged and/or complicated your previous understanding of sex, gender, or sexual preferences. You need to include references of at least four of the articles studied during the semester. Do NOT use sources we did not read during the semester.
* Explain your earlier (pre-course) understanding of the theme(s) you will discuss. Make sure to include examples from your own life experience. Of course only share what you feel comfortable sharing.
* Explain your new understanding of the topic(s) selected and give at least two examples of how this new information has shaped the way you think about these topics.
* Think and write about your understandings and experiences in intersectional terms. You are a person with a sex, gender, sexuality, race/ethnicity, ability, class… Let some of this intersectionality appear in your reflections. Again, only share what you feel comfortable sharing.
