Paul and Timothy (Acts 16, 1 Timothy 1, 2 Timothy 1-2, 1 Thessalonians 3)
Make notes of universal truths about discipleship that can be gleaned from this relationship. *Universal truths are principles found in scripture that are not specific to the original audience, but can have implications for the universal church across time, space, and culture.
Think of an example in your own life where you have been discipled or discipled someone else where the same principles applied.
Connect the principles to three practical applications for believers.
Create a narrated slide presentation. The narration can be:
A video of yourself giving the lesson
Audio hyperlinked into each slide
Script of what you would say as presenter notes for each slide
The slide presentation should include the following parameters:
10-12 slides
Title slide with your name, a title for your Bible lesson
No more than 20 words per slide: the slide should NOT contain the bulk of what you are going to say, but only words, titles, and images that will help clarify and draw your audience’s attention to what you are saying.
Slides should look professional, neat and organized.
They should have color, pictures, graphics that enhance your presentation. They should NOT be overcrowded or overstimulating. They should NOT be so simplistic that it shows little effort.
If the Bible is the only source, an APA citation for the Bible can be on the first slide it is quoted. If other sources are used, there should be internal citations and the last page should be a reference page with APA formatting.
The content of the slides should include:
An overview of the discipleship relationship between the two men you selected.
Principles that can be drawn from that discipleship relationship.
An example in your life (or someone you know) where similar principles apply. This can be where you have been discipled or the one who has discipled someone else.
Three practical applications for believers want to grow as disciples or disciple-makers.
