Behavioral case study

• A brief description of relevant subject characteristics (for example, grade, age, gender). However, use a fictitious name and ensure that no identifiable information is contained within the case study due to respect for confidentiality.• A description of the referral concern (behavior problem) regarding the individual student. The concern must include a specific operational definition of the student’s current and past levels of behavior.• Operational definition of the desired goal(s) for the student’s behavior.• Relevant background information.• Hypotheses of the causes contributing to the student behavior problem.• A description of a collaborative problem-solving or consultation process that includes the identification and roles of various educators involved in the process. Again, do not use names of individuals within the school (even adults working with the child).• A summary of relevant assessments or methods for collecting data on the behavior of concern. (These may include student records, interview, observation, testing, and self-report.)• A graph showing baseline and intervention data. For graphing you will use Excel. The graph should identify the dates in which the data point was collected with clear indication of the points that serve as baseline and the points that identify the effectiveness of the intervention.• A description of, and rationale for, the intervention selected. The intervention chosen must be researched-based and your report must include a rationale for using the intervention that references the literature. All interventions must be in line with best practice procedures and must be justified based on the referral concern. The fidelity of the intervention’s execution must be assured by the intern regardless of who, within the school, is implementing the service.• A chart must be contained within the body of the report that outlines the plus or minus growth for each probe administered. It must clearly indicate the increase or decrease in the student’s performance and must contain a column indicating the AVERAGE growth rate over the course of the entire intervention.• An analysis of data relative to the design of the intervention.• A description of the intervention evaluation and outcomes.• Conclusions regarding effectiveness of the intervention and recommendations for further intervention, and/or referral. This section must address the impact of the intervention as measured by weekly growth and average weekly growth as described above.
