Assignment 1: Career Competencies for Program and Project Portfolio Managers
Let’s ‘survey the landscape’ of Project Portfolio and Program Management (referred to for the remainder of the course as PPM) jobs and career opportunities. But let’s do so by first better understanding what “Strategy” really means.

Look at the competencies, skills, knowledge, and general attributes that organizations are seeking for their Program Managers and Project Portfolio Managers.
Your deliverable: Write a 3-5 page report (12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced) that
summarizes your thoughts on the connection between Business Strategy and projects, programs and portfolios and then
brings into play five to seven competencies, skills, knowledge, and general personal attributes that organizations are seeking for PPM candidates.
About 30-40% of your report should focus on Strategy and how it connects to PPM, the remaining 60-70% should discuss the five to seven competencies which, in turn, are aimed at helping organizations fulfill their Strategies.
